Podcasting is changing. It’s no longer tied to one place or one format. A conversation might start in a home studio, continue remotely, turn into video, or eventually become a series of clips shared across platforms. As podcasting becomes more flexible, creators are looking for more ways to make it part of their everyday lives.
With International Podcast Day coming up on September 30th, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate that change and the creators behind it. Over the past year, we’ve had the chance to work with creators and see all the different ways they record, create, and share their podcasts. Those experiences have helped us better understand what creators need and how we can support them at MAONO.

Taking Podcasts Beyond the Studio
It started with a simple question: why should a podcast have to stay in one place?
It could be behind a desk, in a café, on a road trip, or in a place you never expected to hit record. For today’s creators, the recording space can be wherever the conversation happens.
That idea is at the heart of #PodAnywhere. We would like to explore what podcasting looks like when creators take their conversations beyond the traditional studio and make recording part of everyday life.
The MAONO PD200W Hybrid Podcast Microphone was made with that in mind. With wireless connectivity and a flexible hybrid setup, it gives creators the flexibility to record without being tied to a fixed setup, so they can bring their voice wherever the next idea takes them.
Beyond the podcast itself, we also wanted to capture the people behind the content. Through #MadeByMaono and #MicDeskSetup, we’ve had a closer look at how creators approach their work in their own ways. From simple behind-the-scenes moments of creators recording with MAONO gear to full desk setups in streaming spaces, these projects give us a glimpse into the personal habits and creative processes that shape the content they make.
What We’ve Learned
Through our conversations and interactions with creators over the past year, we’ve seen just how different the podcasting process can look from one creator to another.
Some creators record in dedicated studios, while others make the most of whatever space they have. Some focus on audio, while others create video podcasts, clips, livestreams, and more around the same conversation.
These experiences have shown us that there’s no single way to record or create a podcast. For creators, having the freedom to choose where and how they create can make a real difference.
That’s why we think about flexibility from the creator’s perspective. It’s about making tools that fit naturally into different recording habits and give creators more room to create in the way that works for them.
What’s Next: #PodWithMaono
That thinking led us to #PodWithMaono, a creator program built around one simple idea: giving creators a more flexible way to record podcasts with MAONO.
Through the program, we work with video podcasters on real conversations, from two-person interviews to solo talking-head episodes, and bring MAONO microphones directly into their recording setups. With wireless connectivity and a simple recording workflow, creators can experience what it’s like to capture their conversations with more freedom and less setup.
